21/05/2006 - Celtic Design Machine-knitting
On Sunday 21st May, Ann Widdows will be in the gallery, giving you the opportunity to see a machine knitted item being made, as well as the finished articles. The intricate patterns in her machine knitted designs are inspired by Celtic art and many come from the illuminated pages found in the Book of Lindisfarne.

 

28/05/2006 - Homegrown hydroponics
Debbie Bell will be in the gallery with examples and information on how you can grow plants which are robust, high-yielding and quick- growing... and without soil!

Don''''t throw your rubbish away! Priscilla Day will show you how it can be turned into art. This event will be in the courtyard, or in the gallery if the weather is poor.

Photographs by Wyn Barnes and pottery by Vanessa Waller. Wyn''''s images have a natural feel and take a fresh look at subjects and locations that surround us. Vanessa''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''''s work includes pieces created by the ‘magic trees’ technique – she is one of only three professional potters in the country who create this mocha ware pottery.

With Christine Scott, a trained nurse and aromatherapist who makes individual skin care products using natural ingredients, imagination, knowledge and personal requests.

 

01/07/2006 - Bead jewellery making
Jennifer Buckle, a member of The Beadworkers'' Guild, makes handcrafted original beadwork jewellery and other small items using mainly tiny Japanese seed beads woven together to form netted pendant chokers, Victorian style collars, amulet purses and other styles of necklace, bracelets and earrings.
